This plugin allows you to create custom URLs for logging in, logging out, administration and registering for your WordPress blog. Instead of advertising your login url on your homepage, you can create a url of your choice that can be easier to remember than wp-login.php, for example you could set your login url to http://www.myblog.com/login for an easy way to login to your website.
You could also enable “Stealth Mode” which will prevent users from being able to access ‘wp-login.php’ directly. You can then set your login url to something more cryptic. This won’t secure your website perfectly, but if someone does manage to crack your password, it can make it difficult for them to find where to actually login. This also prevents any bots that are used for malicious intents from accessing your wp-login.php file and attempting to break in.

Redirects user login attempts from going to your dashboard! Great for keeping the ‘back end’ private. Also allows alteration of the login/logout link text.
TECHNICAL BITS:
Redirects user login from the wp_loginout(); function to a page of your choice. Also allows changing the text of the wp_register(); button.
I strongly recommend you install the Role Manager plugin for access control – many plugins use it and you get enhanced functionality out of this plugin if you do. As of this writing we are using v2.2.1.
COMMON ISSUE:
If your template does not use wp_loginout(); or wp_register(); you may want to adjust it so that it does.

Login Warning Banners are important aspects for system security. WordPress blogs present a unique chal lenge as they are designed to provide remote access to multiple users through a publicly accessible au thentication mechanism. By using a pre-authentication Login Warning Banner the blog administrators can be certain that individuals attempting to access the blog have been informed about permissible activi ties and potential monitoring pertaining to accessing the resource. Semisecure Login increases the security of the login process using client-side MD5 encryption on the password when a user logs in. JavaScript is required to enable encryption. It is most useful for situations where SSL is not available, but the administrator wishes to have some additional security measures in place without sacrificing convenience.

Whenever you try to login into your website, you can use this plugin to trasmit your password encrypted. The encryption process is done by the Chap protocol; this is particularly useful when you can’t use ssl or other kinds of secure protocols. By activating the ChapSecureLogin plugin, the only information transmitted unencrypted is the username; password is hided with a random number (nonce) generated by the session – and opportunely transformed by the md5 algorithm. In the first login there will be an error, but don’t worry is only a tecnical error. Indeed in the next login’s operation, if the values are correct, there will not be errors, but you give mind because the password will sended in unencrypted way. If you want more details about this algorithm, check “Building a CHAP Login System”. This is a zero-configuration plugin.

Login Encrypt is a security plugin. It uses a complex combination of DES and RSA. It was first developed by ELSERVER for securing login in the hosting control panel, and then released as a WordPress plugin.
The way it works (fast explanation): * A Javascript appended to the wp-login generates, each time a user logs in, a unique DES key. Using that key, the password of the user is encrypted. * The Javascript encrypts the DES unique key using the RSA public key (generated when the plugin is activated). * The encripted password and the encrypted DES unique key are sended to the server. * A hook when login in checks if a encrypted DES unique key is received. If does, decrypts it using the secure RSA private key. * Then, decrypts the password using the DES unique key.
