Currently the search engine included in WordPress is very limited as to what types or categories of data it can locate and how a blog user can employ the system to locate them (search mode). For example, you cannot search blog posts with a simple strategy such as “find A string in category C”. You can’t perform a search such as “search all categories, but not category B”. It also doesn’t support advanced boolean search query formats (grouping, OR, NOT, AND).
For these reasons, the WordPress search system needed an overhaul and enhancement. Members of a blog need to be able to find what they need quickly and efficiently. The search capabilities of WordPress should allow for a greater flexibility and power in search configuration and strategy so that blog users retrieve optimal relevant search results.
This plugin creates a basis for a new search engine to replace the simple input box search currently employed. The plugin creates an API to support advanced search capabilities such as boolean search, multiple content searches (posts, tags, pages, authors and any available metadata) and flags (finding posts with A string in category C) through additional plugins.
This archive contains several different default search components. Developers can also create their own or edit the existing ones and distribute under the GPL.
The default search components are:
* a MySQL/Database plugin as the default database plugin. The plugin includes multiple content searching and some flag search options.
* A Google search module which uses Google as a backend for searching.
Once a search plugin is uploaded, the user can manage it from the admin control panel; the API includes a way to easily add a settings section for the ability to configure any settings that might be associated with the search plugin.
An “advanced search” page feature (depending on which search plugin is selected) is also provided which provides all the available search options such as search by category, posts by a certain author, etc.
Does little else but load the core FriendFeed API library for any Plugin that wants to utilize it.
It also helps minimize potential conflicts between Open Flash Chart powered plugins.

BBU’s EzineArticles Search API Widget is a plugin that allows you to search EzineArticles.com repository of articles using the standard API calls (not scraping) and displays those results in WordPress widget.
EzineArticles lets you performs 100 requests per hour. This plugin is so efficient you only need no more than one request per hour, leaving you many remaining requests for other applications.

Automatically adds images to posts without having to edit the post.
Images tagged with the POSTID are displayed on that post. If the thumbnail option is enabled the plugin will use thumbnails in the post to link to the full size images. The plugin will automatically create thumbnails when needed.
Usage: Rename images with prefix ‘Image_POSTID’ where ‘POSTID’ is ID of post where the image should be displayed. Multiple images can be attached to a post simply by ensuring that all of them have the same prefix. For posts that do not have images a default “Image coming soon” image is displayed; this can be disabled from the settings screen.
Example Image Name: Image_66.jpg, Image_66_a.jpeg, Image_66_two.gif, Image_66something, etc. Note: When posting multiple images to the same post by naming them with the same “Image_NNN” prefix the image name after the prefix cannot have numbers. For example: Image_66abc2xyx.gif is not allowed because the filename after the prefix has a number, in this case the number “2″.
This plugin enables single sign-on between a Rails application and any number of WordPress installations. You can view an online demo showing a Rails app integrated with a WordPress app.
The key idea of the Integration API is to add a web services API into the existing Rails application, which allows one or more 3rd party apps to get the information they need, when they need it.
The API code can be added to any Rails app without modification. The Rails app stays in control of all sign-in and sign-out functions.
The 3rd party app, such as WordPress, is installed in a subdirectory of the Rails app on the same host. Alternatively, it can be installed running on a different port. These configurations will allow it to access the Rails cookie, which it needs to do to verify that the current user is logged in.
This plugin gives the administrator a couple of options about how the tight the integration should be (see the screenshots):
1. Single sign-on This can be switched on or off. When on, WordPress will check the user’s Rails login state on every page view, and update the WordPress cookie and login state automatically. When off, the user will need to explicitly click the WordPress login and logout links.
2. Automatically create new users This can also be switched on and off. It determines what happens when a user, logged in to Rails, first accesses WordPress. It allows the administrator to maintain manual control of who has login access, vs. allowing all Rails users to have login access to WordPress.
Paypal API Subscriptions is designed to allow your users to register on your blog and subscribe all at once. The Paypal API keeps them on your blog and means that you simply have to skin the WordPress Admin to suit your site theme. Because it is fully integrated with WordPress you can keep track of your users easily and effectively.
This plugin defaults to the Paypal Sandbox for test results so you can test it for yourself.

The Google Ajax Libraries API Plugin is designed to make it easy to use the Google hosted libraries without the need to mess with your theme and plugin code.
When activated, the plugin will “listen” to all of the scripts added (via the WordPress wpenqueuescript function) to your pages header and automagically switch the locally hosted library to a Google hosted one. Deactivating the plugin will remove the “listener” and your site will return to using the local versions.
WordPress MU administrators should copy the plugin into their MU-Plugins directory for it to be enabled across all of your hosted blogs.

Re-posts published posts to anything that implements the MetaWeblog API (such as Drupal) with directions back to the original WordPress blog for updates and comments. Also edits and deletes according to WordPress’ actions. MWAC is based on Blogger API Client and the bloggerapi class (made available by Beau Lebens).
